Nordy's Anniversary Sale & Diaper Backpacks

Nordy's Anniversary Sale & Diaper Backpacks

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is going on July 13 - August 6. This is one of the most exciting sales of the year because Nordstrom offers deep discounts on new items for the upcoming season. This means fall clothes - sweaters, booties, jeans, etc. – are on sale now. The dates of the sale can be a little confusing. While the sale technically starts on July 13, it’s only open to Nordstrom Cardholders that early. If you don’t have a Nordstrom card, you can start shopping the sale on July 21, but, you can peep what’s on sale on their website now.

Am I shopping the sale? Hell no – I’m 35 weeks pregnant and am not buying any clothes until I can at least fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans. I might snag a pair of booties, assuming my feet haven’t grown.

What I did do is scoop a new diaper bag and maternity dress not on sale because why would anything I want or need ever be on sale?

Anyways, onto the diaper bag. I decided recently that my diaper bag just will not do when I have three little ones under two. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked my diaper bag (didn’t love it) but it has been through the ringer with the twins and it’s a big, bulky shoulder bag. I can hardly carry one baby and the damn bag at the same time. So, long story short - we’re moving to diaper backpacks.

I had a few criteria - I needed a bag that can be dressed up and down, must be big enough for all of the things twins and a little baby need, and it’s gotta be cute, duh. After a bunch of research I decided on two bags that were both beautiful and I couldn’t stop thinking about – the Rosie Pope Highbury Hill Diaper Backpack in Blush and the Itzy Ritzy Boss Diaper Backpack in Coffee and Cream.

The Rosie Pope Bag had two reviews on Nordstrom’s website - one was five stars and one was two stars. The two star review only complained about how the drawstring was difficult to close. That’s fair, the drawstring is a little hard to close, but only if you’re trying to literally close the bag all the way, which you wouldn’t want to do with this bag. Closing the drawstring all the way (1) prevents easy access in the bag, (2) isn’t necessary because there is a cover flap that latches closed over the bag, and (3) changes the shape of the bag. So, I completely disagree with the negative review and am so glad I did not let it sway my decision. The bag is beautiful, I can fit all the stuff I’ll need for the twins and Scottie when she finally gets here, and I can wear it with literally anything.

The Itzy Ritzy Boss Diaper Bag in Coffee and Cream was not available anywhere online for a while. It was available in other colors, but I wanted it in Coffee and Cream only. I was surfing around the internet on my phone one day and decided “hmm, I should check Amazon for that bag, it’s the only place I haven’t looked and they have everything.” Amazon, darling, you never let me down. Of course it was available, click, click – boom, ordered! However, it was shipped USPS, and is currently being shipped back and forth “by accident” between North Carolina and some incorrect post office in Virginia. So, still waiting. I’ll have to review it in another post.

For everyone shopping the Nordstrom sale - happy hunting! I envy you and wish I could scoop some great items, but I think I’ll wait till my body is a little bit back to normal.
